The Mamba line harks back to 1945, when the original company building, destroyed by bombing during World War II, was cleared of debris and its reconstruction began. This process of revival has also been carried over to the production of the pipe. The rough finish of the bowl is achieved by sandblasting, followed by painting in a deep black. The third stage involves a completely hand-polishing of the cup to show off the contrast with the beautiful natural color of the briar, just as a destroyed building will rise from the ashes.
