The Gala Evening of the 24th Habanos Festival was the event that marked the beginning of the “Year of Trinidad”, focusing on the 55th anniversary of the prestigious Trinidad brand and its exceptional contribution to Habanos culture. Since its inception in 1969, when it was made solely as a gift from the Cuban state to international dignitaries visiting the island, Trinidad has won over the most discerning Habano fans over the past 55 years to become the elegant and exclusive brand it is today. The Trinidad Robustos Extra vitola, known to true fans since 2004 when it was introduced, and in 2012 its production was discontinued. In 2021 it returned in an elegant humidor as a limited edition for Travel Retail. And in 2024 at the 24th Habanos Festival, Habanos S.A. officially announced that it will return to regular production in a new exquisite packaging. This presentation style for the first time deviates from the traditional semi-box with which the brand is known.

Trinidad Robustos Extra is available in two formats - a special box of 12 and a gift box of 3. The vitolas have a new ring at the end and, for the anniversary year, an additional 55th anniversary ribbon, making this cigar recognizable. All of these Habanos are "entirely handmade with long filling" after a careful selection of tobacco leaves from the Vuelta Abajo region in the Pinar del Río region, known as the birthplace of what is considered the best tobacco in the world.
