The Mamba line harkens back to 1945, when the company's original building, destroyed by bombing during World War II, was cleared of debris and its restoration began. This process of revival is carried over into the making of the pipe. The cup's rough finish was achieved by sandblasting followed by deep black staining. The third stage involves fully hand polishing the cup to show the contrast with the beautiful natural color of the briar, just as a ruined building will rise from the ashes.
