Sustainability, family, tradition and expertise come together at Karas Wines, an Armenian winery located under the eternal gaze of Mount Ararat. Our mission is to produce world-class vintages from our own vineyards in Armavir, Armenia. Karas, the winery’s name, means “amphora” in Armenian, a sacred clay vessel for winemaking used here for 6,000 years.
• Origin: Armenia
• Varietals: 60% Areni, 40% Malbec
• Alcohol: 13.5%
• Vinification: Hand-harvested, followed by post-harvest hand-selection. Temperature-controlled maceration. Fermentation takes place at 26-28°C for 20 days. Malolactic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks.
• Color: Dark ruby color with purple hues.
• Serving temperature: 16°C - 18 °C
• Aroma: oak stone
• Taste: Fresh on the palate, harmonious with sweet tannins
