The history of Savinelli began in 1876 in Milan, Italy. Achille Savinelli Sr. opened one of the world’s first tobacco shops. To this day, passionate smokers still meet in the shop to share their love for his brilliant pipes. Savinelli remains a family business, with the shop and the brand passed down through the generations. Their success is a combination of innovation and family tradition. Their excellent reputation is also due to the fact that Italy grows the best quality briar in the world.
It is only fitting that one of Italy’s most historic and respected pipe manufacturers would dedicate a line to one of the country’s most famous cities, Rome. From antiquity and empire to the Renaissance and a cultural hub, the Italian capital tells the story of millennia through its architecture, statues, piazzas and fountains. Savinelli’s Roma series pays homage to this history, presenting a dark rusticity highlighted by an ornate brass ring. The lighter, smoothly polished rim repeats this elegant contrast, and the mouthpiece swaps the Italian brand's usual crest logo for one adorned with an "R," distinguishing the Rome-inspired line.
