The history of Savinelli began in 1876 in Milan, Italy. Achille Savinelli Sr. opened one of the world’s first tobacco shops. To this day, passionate smokers still meet in the shop to share their love for his brilliant pipes. Savinelli remains a family business as the shop and the brand are passed down through the generations. Their success is a combination of innovation and family tradition. Their excellent reputation is also due to the fact that Italy grows the best quality briar in the world.
While the Roma line pays homage to the city of Rome as a whole, Savinelli’s Trevi series focuses on a specific landmark in the capital – the Trevi Fountain. Designed by Italian architect Nicola Salvi, the Trevi is the largest Baroque fountain in Rome and one of the most famous in the world. Marking the intersection of three roads (in Italian tre viè) from which it derives its name and leading to an ancient Roman aqueduct. The beautiful arches of Acqua Vergine /virgin water/ are engraved on the nickel ring of each pipe in the line.
