Gérard Bertrand is one of the most distinguished winemakers in the South of France, having won numerous awards in the most prestigious crus of Languedoc-Roussillon. In 2012, he was awarded the title of “Red Wine Producer of the Year” by the IWC, as well as “European Cellar of the Year” by Wine Enthusiast. Known as the King of Languedoc, Bertrand produces stunning wines that showcase the diversity of the terroirs of the South of France.

Gérard Bertrand is strongly committed to sustainable soil development, applying the Terra Vitis standards and cultivating his vineyards organically. Biodynamic farming is used in eight of the winery’s properties. The soils are highly diverse, mainly with hard limestone, but also gravel brought by the rivers of the Languedoc region.

Gérard Bertrand Côte des Roses Sauvignon Blanc is a fresh, elegant white wine from the South of France, combining the typical character of the Sauvignon Blanc variety with the influence of the Mediterranean climate and the unique style of Gérard Bertrand.

• Vinification: To obtain the intensity that is characteristic of this grape variety, Sauvignon Blanc must be harvested at a precise time. The grapes are tasted before harvest and then harvested at night to preserve the freshness of the fruit, before being delicately pressed upon arrival in the cellar. For about 5 months, about 10% of the wine is vinified in French barrels, while the rest is placed in thermoregulated tanks at a low temperature to preserve the richness and freshness of the aromas. Finally, after a light filtration, the wine is bottled early to preserve the fresh and fruity character.
