Located in Saint-Dresery, Château Puech-Haut is located near the western border of the Rhône Valley and benefits from both its proximity to the Mediterranean Sea and the Rocky Mountains of France. It has just over 50 hectares planted with Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsault, Carignan, Viognier, Marsanne, Roussanne, Grenache Blanc and Carignan Blanc. Puech-Haut’s wines are rich and powerful, but also show the earthy and mineral character of the region’s rocky clay-limestone soils.
The vineyards for the wine are located in the northeast of Montpellier. The terroir is located between 50 and 150 meters above sea level on hilly terrain. The climate is maritime, and the round stones that make up the soil are one of the most important factors in the taste of the wine.
