Undurraga Winery was founded in 1885 by Francisco Undurraga Vicuña in Fundo Santa Ana, 34 km. from the Chilean capital, Santiago. Today, the winery owns plantations in the best and most famous wine-growing valleys in Chile. The production is enough to make an average of 25 million bottles.
Undurraga owns approximately 1,350 hectares of vineyards located in the best wine-producing regions in Chile. The estates are dedicated to the cultivation and production of the best grape varieties. The vineyards are located in the Maipo, Colchagua, Almahu, Lleida in San Antonio and Maule valleys. Each of these locations is carefully selected by the winemaking teams based on the potential for growing the different varieties.
“Aliwen” means sacred tree. To ensure that “sacred tree” is more than an abstract concept, the winery helps the Reforest Patagonia Foundation.
